“Keep Looking Up Children”..Pain of Divorce “The Beginning”

Let’s go back to the beginning of my nightmare.
This is a memory from my journey through divorce.
July 2013

Another bad day. I went through the motions at work and somehow managed to made it through the day.

After work I forced myself, as I do with all my activities these days, to go to Zumba. As I was attempting the dance moves my eye kept going to the window to my right. The sun was shining through the trees. Then a memory struck me of an older man, a man of God who would be appalled at the situation I find myself in.   This man was my husbands, at the time, grandfather. I was in my early 20’s when we went visited him in his home. He was lying in a hospital bed slowly dying of colon cancer. I remember he greeted us with a weak smile. In all of his pain, he managed to point skyward slowly and then said “keep looking up children, keep looking up.” I will try to follow his advice.

If you are going through the pain of divorce please
hold tightly to your faith and your friends.
Although it may seem impossible you will make it.
God Bless

Hi, I am a mom, nana, and writer living in the beautiful state of NC. I was married for 37 years and then blindsided by my husband, a former pastor. After decades he filed for legal separation without a word to me. It has been a rough road coming to terms with this new life that has been chosen for me. My blog is a place where I share "The Beginning," this place I found myself, a place I did not want to be. "The Journey," the things we need to do as we traverse this new road. Lastly "The Joy," and yes there is still joy to be found even after great pain. I have finished my first book "My Story My Divorce God's Promise, The Beginning." I am in the process of writing The Journey and The Joy. Please join me on my adventure to a new life. Always remember God's Promise "I will never leave you or forsake you."
